We've got a great record of helping our students finance their education through scholarships, grants, loans, and other forms of financial assistance. We're fortunate to have donors that are passionate about helping our students. Together we've generated more than 200 scholarships to help you pursue your degree.

Scholarships for non-first-year students

All scholarships and applications through the University of Iowa are located on the Iowa Scholarship Portal. To apply for scholarships you must first complete the General Scholarship Application for the university. Undergraduate students (second-year and up) who are enrolled in the Tippie College of Business may then complete the Tippie College of Business conditional application. The conditional application opens September 15. Scholarships are typically awarded near the end of the spring semester. Notifications will be sent to your University of Iowa email account.

Scholarships are awarded based on a variety of criteria that could include:

  • Demonstrated financial need
  • Pursuit of specific majors or certificates
  • Outstanding scholarship
  • Membership in specific student organizations

In addition, various scholarships specify other relevant factors, including demonstrated community service or preferences for residents of certain Iowa counties. Scholarships require full-time enrollment.

Scholarships for transfer students

Transfer students are eligible to apply for Tippie College of Business scholarships once you have submitted an application for admission to the Tippie College of Business. Additional scholarships for full-time transfer students, including online BBA students, are awarded through the Office of Admissions.
