Tippie Senate is proud to be able to allocate funds to the Tippie Student Orgs, under the assumption they fall under the following guidelines:

  1. One application (event) per Tippie student org is permitted during a funding period.
  2. A maximum of $500 per application (event) may be allocated during a semester.
  3. Preference will be given for events that:
    • involve meaningful collaboration with other organizations to expand impact
    • include sustainability aspects such as composting and recycling, and works to become a zero-waste event
    • promote personal, academic, and career success
    • advocate for mental health awareness and support
    • encourage a sense of belonging and engagement of all members of the Tippie community
  4. Student organizations hosting events related to career fairs or anything similar should first apply to get funding from Tippie Career Services
  5. Per each application request granted, we ask that each organization recognizes and acknowledges Tippie Senate. The organization is asked to acknowledge Tippie Senate via social media by tagging the Tippie Senate Instagram account (@tippiesenate) and adding a small statement of gratitude in any post made for the event. We also ask that at the organization's event, they recognize Tippie Senate by providing a statement recognizing who Tippie Senate is and how the organization members may be able to get involved.
  6. We cannot say yes to:
    • Anything involving bars, alcohol, or any other similar substance
    • Off-campus events (outside of the Iowa City/Coralville area) and/or professional trips
