You may drop a course through MyUI up until 11:59 pm Central Time the day before the listed course start date in MyUI. If you drop on or after the start date of your course, you will be responsible for paying a minimum of 10% of the tuition. The tuition amount you are responsible for paying increases over time as the class progresses. The tuition responsibility schedule (pdf) for Graduate and Professional Programs (GPP) is different than the general University; please only refer to this schedule and disregard any other information you may find on other University of Iowa websites, communications, or in MyUI related to tuition responsibility.
Graduate and Professional Programs courses require attendance at live class sessions unless otherwise noted: in-person and hybrid courses require attendance at a physical site while online and virtual courses only meet via the web. Most in-person courses are taught in a hybrid format. Online and in-person/hybrid courses include assignments and recorded lecture content completed on your own time (denoted in MyUI course listing as Arranged Time Asynchronous Online) in addition to the required live sessions.
