  • Wednesday, July 16 from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (in-person): 2025 Iowa Hunger Summit
    • Event Description: The Iowa Hunger Summit is a free, public event held annually, bringing together hundreds of food security leaders from across our state. Participants include representatives from community organizations, businesses, government agencies, social services, faith-based communities, academic institutions and other groups that lead or participate in projects to eradicate hunger.

This year's theme, From the Ground Up, underscores the importance of nurturing sustainable solutions to food insecurity at every stage of life. Lasting change requires a lifelong commitment to nutrition, from infancy to older adulthood and every moment in between. By engaging in conversations about the root causes of hunger and seeking best practices from around Iowa and the country, we can strengthen the foundation of Iowa’s food systems to support health and well-being across generations. From early childhood development to aging with dignity, ensuring access to nutritious food across the lifespan is essential for building a resilient, food-secure future.

  • Thursday, July 31 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. (in-person): Business Record's 2025 Women of Influence
    • The Women of Influence awards celebrate the work of women who have made a difference. They have devoted their lives to doing things most wouldn’t. They have spent countless hours on various boards and are role models with impeccable ethics. They have blazed a trail either personally or professionally for other women to follow.

The Women of Influence event will recognize Central Iowa women for their contributions in the public or private sector. Winners are chosen based on the impact they have made in their chosen field or for their contributions through civic and philanthropic organizations. This event will also award the Woman Business Owner of the Year and Emerging Woman of Influence.
