In the spring

Undergraduate students who are enrolled in a Tippie College of Business program of study (Direct admits and Declared majors) or will be admitted (Pre-Business/Standards and Transfer) to the Tippie College of Business in the semester during which the student’s term begins may participate in the General Election.

To get on the ballot applicants must receive support for candidacy in one of the three following ways:

  • Electronically collect no less than 50 peer signatures from undergraduate students enrolled as Pre-Business students or in a Tippie program of study. (Signatures and enrollment status will be verified by the Tippie Undergraduate Program)
  • Provide three professionally written letters of recommendation from peer undergraduate students enrolled as Pre-Business students or in a Tippie program of study. (Enrollment status will be verified by the Tippie Undergraduate Program)
  • Provide one faculty and/or staff letter of recommendation.

Once on the ballot, the Tippie student body will vote for the new senators. Senators who receive the most votes and adhere to all guidelines will be elected.
