What is Tippie Thrive?

Tippie Thrive is a program focused on students’ emotional and mental wellness. The program is for the students and lead by the students at Tippie. Tippie Thrive normalizes mental health and builds skills of wellness and resilience.

Thrive and Resiliency Badge

Grow personally, stand out professionally, and lead with confidence

As a Tippie business student, you already receive high-quality technical training to prepare you for your future career. This new initiative builds on that foundation by helping you develop the soft skills employers value: adaptability, confidence, initiative, emotional intelligence, communication, and stress management.

Evidence-based, real-world skills

This program uses proven practices from Positive Psychology, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness  to help you strengthen your personal well-being and professional readiness. The goal is simple: to equip you with skills that help you thrive in the workplace and in life.

Earn a badge that sets you apart

To complete the badge, you'll work through four requirements totaling 10–12 hours. You can work on it at any point during your time as an enrolled business student. Add this credential to your resume, LinkedIn, Handshake, and talk about it in interviews.

Why it matters

Employers consistently rank communication, initiative, resilience, teamwork, and emotional intelligence among the top competencies they look for in new graduates. This initiative gives you a head start by helping you build and demonstrate those strengths.

Added bonuses

Students who complete their badge in spring 2026 will be entered into a drawing for multiple $500 scholarships, invited to a celebration and networking dinner with fellow badge earners, and will have access to a new leadership opportunity with Tippie Thrive.
