Dropping a course
You may drop a course through MyUI until 11:59 p.m. Central Time the day before the listed course start date in MyUI. If you drop a course on or after the start date, you will be responsible for paying a minimum of 10% of the tuition. Your tuition responsibility increases as the course progresses.
The Tippie Graduate and Professional Programs (GPP) Tuition Responsibility Schedule (pdf) is different than the general University; please only refer to this schedule when determining tuition responsibility.
Business Analytics (MS & Certificate), Master of Finance, and AI & Machine Learning Certificate students: The Graduate College enforces the "last day to drop without dean’s approval, graduate" deadline, but you must still contact tippie-grad-registration@uiowa.edu to complete the drop and are held to this Tuition Responsibility Schedule (pdf).

Live class sessions
Tippie Graduate and Professional Programs courses require attendance at live class sessions.
- In-person/hybrid courses: Live sessions in-person, plus asynchronous online content. Some courses may alternate live sessions between in-person and Zoom. Refer to the schedule for details.
- Online courses: Live sessions via Zoom, plus asynchronous online content.
In addition to required live sessions, all courses include assignments and recorded lecture content that you complete on your own time (denoted in MyUI course listing as Arranged Time Asynchronous Online).
