About us
Applied AI is a student organization that aims to help students explore the world of AI through knowledge building, exposure to real tools and use cases, and collaborative projects. Our events feature industry speakers, hands-on workshops and demos, and ethics debates. All are fully beginner friendly, no experience required. Join us to learn, connect, and grow with AI.
How to join
Students of all majors are welcome and encouraged to join our organization. We meet bi-weekly on Thursdays from 5:00-6:00 p.m. Contact us with any questions or for information about events and locations.
Guest speakers & industry insights
Throughout the semester, we invite professionals working in AI automation, consulting, entrepreneurship, and beyond to speak with our members. These events are conversational and open, giving students the chance to ask questions, learn about different career paths, and discover how AI is being applied in the real world across industries.
Live demos & industry updates
Applied AI keeps you plugged into the ever evolving world of artificial intelligence. At our meetings, we showcase live demos of the latest AI tools, platforms, and use cases, whether it's automating workflows, building with no-code tools, or exploring cutting edge models. Members gain practical exposure to the technologies shaping the future, all while staying up to date on major trends and developments in the AI space.
AI consulting
Our newest initiative gives members the opportunity to act as AI consultants for local Iowa businesses and university departments. Members will help organizations explore how AI can enhance their operations, whether that means smarter workflows, better customer engagement, or more efficient processes. It's a unique way to make a real impact while developing client facing skills.
