  • Thursday, July 31 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. (in-person): Business Record's 2025 Women of Influence
    • The Women of Influence awards celebrate the work of women who have made a difference. They have devoted their lives to doing things most wouldn’t. They have spent countless hours on various boards and are role models with impeccable ethics. They have blazed a trail either personally or professionally for other women to follow.

      The Women of Influence event will recognize Central Iowa women for their contributions in the public or private sector. Winners are chosen based on the impact they have made in their chosen field or for their contributions through civic and philanthropic organizations. This event will also award the Woman Business Owner of the Year and Emerging Woman of Influence. 

  • Tuesday, August 5 from 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. (in-person): Des Moines Data & Analytics Group - A Chatbot for Data Analytics? A Proof of Value Study from Casey’s
    • Event Description: Generative AI is already transforming creative and language-based tasks. Freely available LLMs and prompt engineering are often all you need. However, for precise, repeatable tasks like data analytics, it’s a little more complex.

      Casey’s Analytics Center of Excellence was looking for ways to free up analysts for strategic efforts, reduce last-minute requests, and speed up time to insights for our partners. Could a GenAI assistant, tailored to our business, conduct descriptive and diagnostic analyses for business users at their direction? We decided to find out.

  • Wednesday, August 6 from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. CST (online): Made in Iowa: 2025 Iowa Manufacturing Forecast
    • Event Description: In a time marked by tariffs and economic uncertainty, Iowa’s manufacturing sector is persisting through new pressures as well as existing challenges including elevated interest rates, a depressed ag economy and ongoing labor shortages. A handful of manufacturers have recently reported layoffs, reflecting pressure in the sector. At the upcoming Manufacturing Forecast event, a panel of industry leaders will examine how Iowa’s manufacturing sector is responding and offer an outlook on what to expect from the manufacturing economy heading into 2026. The discussion will cover how tariffs’ effect on manufacturing could affect other sectors, how companies are adjusting capital investment plans and strategies for attracting and retaining manufacturers and skilled workers.

    • Event Description: Connect over coffee and dive into a tech discussion with Dave Tucker, Partner at Next Level Ventures. Join us on Thursday, August 14th, from 8:00 – 9:00 a.m. at West End Architectural Salvage.

    • Event Description: National Nonprofit Day is commemorated in August each year to recognize nonprofit organizations’ ongoing efforts to serve the local community. Join us to celebrate YOU – the organizations making a difference in Greater Des Moines. There will be delicious treats, coffee, networking opportunities and some amazing door prizes! Don’t miss this chance for connection, collaboration and community!

    • Event Description:  Women who work in technology, join us for a happy hour event to connect with like-minded professionals, share experiences, and empower each other in a supportive and inspiring environment. Whether you're a part of a startup or a large tech team, new to your role, or a seasoned professional, we'd love to have you join us!

      This Women in Tech Happy Hour event will be on Thursday, September 4th from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. in the Maple Studios Training Center at Ramco, Powered by Sukup in West Des Moines. Programming will start at 3:45 p.m.
