About us

We are a transformational, future-oriented group composed of the brightest students that the Tippie College of Business has to offer. Members of the Tippie Business Honor Society place in the top 10% of Tippie students per their University of Iowa GPA. Student-run and supervised by members of the Tippie staff, this organization provides opportunities for students to thrive in leadership roles that will prepare them for their careers. Members can also leverage our connections with Tippie alumni to begin networking for their future.

Expand your network

The Tippie College of Business has produced successful businessmen and women who are looking to hire more Tippie graduates. As a member of the Tippie Business Honor Society, you stand out to employers as a distinguished student and leader. You also gain valuable connections with business professionals through interactive trips and events put on by the organization. These connections often grow into internships or first jobs for our members.

Develop skills beyond the classroom

The Tippie Business Honor Society provides ambitious students with the opportunity to put their education into practice. Members of our executive board develop skills in leading others, planning events, managing funds, and conducting business communication. By running for one of these positions, students will learn how to transfer classroom skills to their careers.

Meet other like-minded Tippie students

Through our formal meetings and social events, members of the Tippie Business Honor Society get valuable chances to meet other high-achieving business students. The friendships and connections made during your time enrolled in Tippie will continue to bear fruit down the road as a professional.

How to join

Membership in the Tippie Business Honor Society is a distinction reserved for exceptional business students whose University of Iowa GPA places them in the top 10% of students enrolled in Tippie. Membership runs for a period of 12 months, January to December, and new invitations are issued the following January, again based on University of Iowa GPA.

If you are qualified to join, you will receive a personal invitation from the faculty director of the Honors Program and the Associate Dean of the Undergraduate Program, following close of grades and tabulation of student GPAs.
